Ständig Bön för Äktenskap och Familj

Dear Friends,

 It’s hard to believe that another week has gone by since I wrote to you – I find that every week!! – but it is not a week since I thought about you and prayed for you. I do that every day. Thank you for you love and your faith. You are a great source of hope in my life.

 Attached is my input for next Sunday and the week following. It is centred around the idea that Sunday is the annual day of prayer for vocations. This is not just about vocations to the priesthood and religious life, although it certainly needs to be about those in this day and age when there is a growing shortage of both. But vocations is about all of us. It is the hallmark of our Baptism and is lived out in various ways for the sake of the Church and the world we live in.

 I will be praying for you through the coming week that you will recognise and enjoy your vocation of marriage and within family life. This is the key to all other vocations. Please continue to pray for me that I can grow in my vocation as a religious and a priest. And pray for one another and for all those who are using this weekly programme for marriage development and for family life. God bless you and all your loved ones always.

Imorgon är Världskallelsedagen.  I dailytvmass i Canada har de bett följande bön under hela veckan.   Herre, hjälp oss att be denna bön med hjärtat.  Behovet av kallelser i din vingård är enorm.

Prayer for Vocations.  Bön för kallelser

O God, Father of all mercies. Provider of a bountiful harvest.  Send your graces upon those you have called to gather the fruits of your labour.  Preserve and strengthen them in their lifelong service for you.  Open the hearts of your children that they may discern Your Holy Will.  Inspire them to surrender themselves to serving others in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Teach all the faithful to follow their respective paths in life guided by your divine word and truth.  Hear our prayers and grant your Churches needs through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, all the angels and saints through Christ Our Lord Amen.

O Gud, Fader av all barmhärtighet, Givare av en riklig skörd.  Sänd din nåd till dem du har kallat att skörda frukterna av ditt arbete. Bevara och stärk dem i deras livslånga tjänst för Dig. Öppna dina barns hjärtan så att de kan urskilja Din Heliga Vilja.  Inspirera dem att ge sig själva för att tjäna andra i din son Jesus Kristus namn.  Lär alla troende att följa deras respektive stigar i livet ledda av dina gudomliga ord. Hör våra böner och ge din Kyrka det den behöver genom Den välsignade Jungfru Maria, alla änglar och helgon genom Jesus Kristus, Vår Herre. Amen.

Jag kommer ihåg vad jag skrev tidigare.  Någon svarade på frågan "Vad är meningen med livet" med följande "Meningen med livet är att hitta sin gåva och sedan ge bort den".

Fr. Johnny skriver idag: "We need to make our faith commnunity a place that attracts the attention of those around us.  The Lord will then provide what is needed for the Eucharist and for leadership for a better world.  Vi behöver göra vår tros kommunitet  till  en plats som väcker uppmärksamhet hos dem runt omkring oss.  Då kommer Herren att ge vad som behövs för Eukaristin och för ledarskap för en bättre värld. Resten finns i Brevet.  Herre, när Kyrkorna öppnar upp igen, hjälp oss att gör detta så att vi får många bra andliga och mänskliga ledare. Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Come Holy Spirit, Fill the Hearts of Your Faithful and kindle in them the fire of Your love. Send forth Your Spirit and we shall be created and You will renew the face of the earth. Kom Helige Ande, fyll dina trognas hjärtan och tänd i dem Din kärleks eld. Sänd ut Din Ande och vi skall bli väckta och Du skall förnya jordens ansikte.

Dear Friends,

 Thank God the cold spell seems to have gone from us and we can now look forward to warmer and better weather in the week ahead. I hope you and all your loved ones had a good Easter and experienced the joy of Christ at this time. Personally, I found it a very good time, thank God.

 Attached is my input for next Sunday and the week following it. Again, the Word of God holds a great challenge for us to bring the sense of joy and gladness to those around us so that they can know the wonder of God’s love for us and devotion to us in the week ahead. I will be praying for you that you can enter into this wonderful gift of God through your love for one another and for the Lord. We have so much to be grateful for. Let all of that come to the surface in the week ahead.

 Thank you for your prayers for me. Please continue those prayers and pray for one another that God may bless us all and keep us safe from all harm.

Hej allihopa,

Nu tror jag att flera av oss har fått åtminstone första vaccinationen och det är länge sedan vi har firat Mässan tillsammans.  Jag hoppas att vi snart kan fira tillsammans

Igår 15 april hörde jag en lysande reflektion om Mässan på dailytvmass.com av P. Dan Donavan.  Sedan Påsk har läsningarna kommit från Apostlagärningarna.  P. Donavan sade att det kallas för The Book of the Church with the Spirit, Kyrkans Bok med Anden. Kyrkan och Anden, båda är oskiljbara. Anden är Kyrkans själ, den innersta grunden av Kyrkans liv. 

Han talade om andra Vatikankonciliet förr och nu.  På grund av Vatikan 2 blev  Mässan förnyad och det blev  möjligt för alla att vara involverade i Mässan. Prästen ber med och i Kommunitetens namn.  "Word and Sacrament, Grace and Thanksgiving, Forgiveness and Love, Prayer and Community,  all these and much more are involved in our celebration of the Eucharist.  They suggest the inner reality, the lifegiving gift which is present in the Church and in all institutional aspects which it serves. Ord och Sakrament, Nåd och Tacksägelse , Förlåtelse och Kärlek, Bön och Kommunitet;  alla dessa och mycket mer är involverade i vårt firande av Eukaristin. De antyder den innersta realiteten, den livgivande gåva som är närvarande i Kyrkan och är synbar i allt som Kyrkan tjänar. 

P. Donavan har varit präst i 59 år.  Under alla dessa år har hans förståelse och uppskattning av Eukaristin fördjupats och blivit mer autentisk. Den blir mer och mer centrum i hans liv  som präst, kristen och människa.  Herre, nu när Kyrkorna öppnas igen, väck en längtan i alla gamla och unga att komma tillbaka och bli förnyade och förenade tillsammans i Eukaristin. Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

I Canada börjar de en vecka för bön för kallelser som avslutas nästa söndag som är Världs Kallelse dag.  Herre, öppnar dina barns hjärtat så att de kan inse Din vilja.

För några månader sedan bad vi för ett par som hade separerat men som inte vill skiljas. Kvinnan som bad om förbön för dem har skrivit:
"Vi samlades hela familjen, barn och barnbarn, och målade ägg på påskafton. Det är så fint att se dem tillsammans, särskilt min son och min svärdotter, som ju har separerat. Jag slutar inte att hoppas på att det ska bli bra igen. Jag ber: Jesus, jag förtröstar på dig!" Herre, tack för att hela familjen kan samlas och ha roligt tillsammans.  Vi ber att du drar paret närmare varandra igen så att de kan förstå varandra,  försonas och får en ännu djupare relation.  Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig. Vidare skrev kvinnan. "My mother, who would have been 100 years old if she had lived, always had a special devotion to St. Joseph. I have thought about this a lot as it is St. Joseph’s year. She used to say: “St. Joseph is so drastic!” He will answer your prayers, but sometimes in a very unexpected and dramatic way!  Min Mamma som skulle ha varit 100 år gammal, om hon hade levat, hade en speciell hängivenhet till Helige Josef.  Jag har tänkt mycket på detta eftersom det är Helige Josefs år.  Hon brukade säga "Helige Josef är så drastisk, Han vill svara på dina böner, men ibland på ett väldigt oväntat och dramatiskt sätt." Helige Josef, be för dem.

Solen skiner här i Karlstad och det är lite varmare.  Flera av oss har fått första vaccindosen och livet kommer gradvis in i en trevligare fas. Vi är inne i Påskveckan och vi försöker se framåt.  Jag blir ledsen av allt elände vi hör på nyheterna inte minst att det finns problem i Nordirland igen. P. Johnny som bor i Belfast skriver till oss den här veckan:  Jesus needs us to engage in a peace process with one another so that we can be his disciples and true witnesses of his resurrection.  Jesus behöver oss att vara engagerade i en fredsprocess med varandra  så att vi kan vara hans lärjungar och sanna vittnen av hans uppståndelse. Resten finns i brevet. Herre, vi ber att du griper in där det behövs.  Låt bra mänskliga och andliga ledare växa fram. Hjälp oss alla att vara bra förebilder för våra barn och barnbarn. Hjälp oss alla att kunna förlåta. Låt det bli fred i världen.  Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Ibland kan jag tänka, "Var finns Gud? Varför blir det så här? Vad ska jag göra? Under veckan sade P. Hank Van Meijel S.J.: Be open to God. God is the first mover. God will give us insight but in God´s time. When the time comes. God comes in.  Var öppna för Gud. Gud är den första  som rör sig. Gud kommer att ge oss insikt men i Guds tid.  När tiden är inne, kommer Gud in.  P. Hank pratade från egen erfarenhet. P. Bertao sade If we remain rooted in Christ, we will be like a tree planted near streams of water.  Om vi  förblir rotade i Herren, kommer vi att vara lika ett träd planterat bredvid strömmande vatten.

Herre, vi ber för de intentioner som finns djupt i våra hjärtan. Du vet allt. Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Shepherd me, o God. Lead me by your Word to know you and myself more completely.  Give me courage and skill to work alongside you in helping others.  Var en herde för mig, O Gud, Led mig med Ditt ord att känna Dig och mig själv mer komplett.  Ge mig mod och skicklighet att arbeta jämte dig i att kunna hjälpa andra.  Loyola Press.

Dear Friends,

 It is wonderful to be at this time of the year now, the octave of Easter and looking forward to the next And it is one of the great gifts that he asks us, as his followers, to bring to the world we live in. few weeks of celebrating our faith in Christ’s resurrection and his real presence with us. I hope you have had a good experience of Holy Week and the Easter Triduum. It was really magnificent here in Clonard and very inspiring for our faith, hope and love.

 Attached is my input for next Sunday and the week following it. It picks up on one of the major themes of these post-Easter Sundays, namely that of peace. That is one of the great gifts that Christ brings to us through the power of his resurrection. And it is one of the great gifts he asks us, as his followers, to bring to the  world we live in.  Of course marriage and family life are the two main places where this gift is nourished and developed and from where it is spread abroad.

 You will be in my prayers as usual each day of the week ahead. May God bless you with joy and generosity with one another. And please continue to pray for me and for one another.

Dear Friends,

 With this email we arrive at the beginning of April and we reach Easter. I love the next few months each year and am looking forward to them this year especially as they promise to be the beginning of a new opening up of our lives. As we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ, we can look forward to this new beginning and gradually enter into it.

 Attached is my input for Easter Sunday and for Easter week. I hope it will be helpful for you and for your family and parish community. Many people have told me how much this little programme is helping them by  giving them a framework for spending time together in prayer, talking and acting for their marriage and family life. I am always glad to hear that. Know that you are in my prayers every day. I thank God for you and I ask God to always bless you and all your loved ones and to keep you safe through this time of the pandemic. Thank you for your prayers for me and for each other.

Jesus är uppstånden. Han är sannerligen Uppstånden. Alleluia.  Det är vår och vi går mot bättre tider.  Tack Herre.  Herre, tack för alla våra präster som trots den rådande situationen har gjort Påskfirandet så meningsfullt för oss.  Ge dem vad de behöver.  Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Cardinal Conway said on Easter Sunday:  Easter Sunday is the centre and heart of our faith which joins all Christians together.  It is an event an action where the apostles find the empty tomb.  There is something more than the empty tomb - the encounter - the encounter with the risen Jesus and Jesus sends them out to proclaim the Word. Påsksöndagen är centrumet och hjärtat av vår tro som förenar alla Kristna.  Det är en händelse, en handling där lärjungarna finner den tomma graven. Där finns någonting mer än den tomma graven - mötet - mötet med den uppståndne Jesus och Jesus sänder ut dem att proklamera Ordet".

Jag har hört många fina saker på sista tiden.  Någon fick frågan. "Vad är meningen med livet". Hon svarade "meningen med livet är att hitta sin gåva och sedan ge bort den".

"Now is the time to live our Christian faith" skriver P. Johnny den här veckan. Resten finns i brevet.

Risen Lord, your Resurrection brings joy to all of creation. Grant me the grace to live my life as a faithful follower.  Uppståndne Herre, Din uppståndelse ger glädje till hela skapelsen. Ge mig nåden att leva mitt liv som en trogen följeslagare.  Loyola Press
