Nyligen sade någon till mig att receptet för ett gott äktenskap är öppenhet, ärligheten, omtanke och jag lägger gärna till ordet respekt. Allt är förstås grundat på kärlek.
Gud, hör våra böner för paret som befinner sig i kris och som vi ofta har bett för. De har gjort lite framsteg, men vill gärna att vi fortsätter att be för dem. Herre, tack för att Du hör bön. Vi ber att paret är öppet för Din ledning och att Du visar dem vägen till en genuin förståelse, ett genuint lyssnande till varandas synpunkter och ett geniunt närmande till varandra. Låt dem inte såra varandra och hjälp dem att kunna vara behärskade. Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.
Anna, som nyligen förlorade sin man efter ett 43årigt äktenskap, befinner sig i djup sorg. Herre, vi överlämnar Anna till Dig. Du vet hur hon känner sig just nu. Var med henne och bär henne genom sörgen. Trösta henne och låt henne känna sig buren av andras böner. Må hennes man vila i frid. Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.
Father of compassion, God of all encouragement, thank you for reaching out to me when I am most in need. Help me to do the same for others. Medkänslans Gud, all uppmuntrans Gud, jag tackar Dig för att Du är med mig när jag mest behöver Dig. Hjälp mig att kunna göra detsamma för andra. - Loyola Press

It struck me today, as I was thinking about you and praying for you, that I will be away next week and am uncertain about Internet access. I am going to Esker for our Redemptorist Province Retreat on Sunday and we will return to Clonard on Friday. So, in case anything should happen that I could not send you the Couple Prayer for the following week, I am sending it now.
Please pray for us that these days of prayer and reflection together will be good for us individually and as communities and that we will be able to serve you better in the year ahead. You will be in my prayers too during that time that God may continue to bless you and all your loved ones with joy and peace and love.

Dear Friends,
Thank you for your prayers for us last week on our Province Retreat in Esker. Everything went very well for us. It was an enjoyable and fruitful retreat. I ask for your prayers for us in the week ahead, especially on Saturday, February 11th. We are having a Day for Married Couples in Clonard. There are 14 couples booked for that day at present, which is marvellous. We hope that this will be the first of many days for couples here.
As always you are in my prayers. May God continue to bless you and all your loved ones in the week ahead.
