Hej allihopa;
Det är med sorg i hjärtat jag meddelar att Debbie har somnat in, R.I.P. Hennes man ringde mig under veckan. Hon har haft cancer i många år och den hade spridit sig till levern. Debbie var en mycket speciell och omtyckt person. Jag kände mig alltid glad och inspirerad efter ett samtal med henne. Hon efterlämnar sin man och två barn, som jag tror är omkring tjugo. Det var en lycklig familj. Ni kanske kommer ihåg att hon bad oss be för hennes sjuka dotter Miranda, som hade fått diagnosen Asperges. Debbie bad speciellt att vi skulle be den här bönen till Heliga Dympna för Miranda. Låt oss också be att det finns människor, som gör vad de kan för familjen och att familjen känner sig buren av Herren.
"Lord Jesus Christ, You have willed that St Dymphna should be invoked by thousands of clients as the patroness of nervous and mental disease and have brought it about that her interest in these patients should be an inspiration to and an ideal of charity throughout the world. Grant that, through the prayers of this youthful martyr of purity, those who suffer from nervous and mental illness everywhere on earth may be helped and consoled. I recommend to You in particular:
Miranda
Be pleased to hear the prayers of St Dymphna and of Your Blessed Mother. Give those whom I recommend the patience to bear with their affliction and resignation to do Your divine will. Give them the consolation they need and especially the cure they so much desire, if it be Your will. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen."
I våras fick jag ett vackert kort från Debbie med orden:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
Lita på Herren med hela ditt hjärta."
Det var så hon levde.
