Ständig Bön för Äktenskap och Familj

Dear Friends,

 Here in Clonard we are coming towards the end of our annual Solemn Novena in honour of our Mother of Perpetual Help. It has been a great success so far. Maybe you have been with us online or in person and, if so, I hope you are enjoying it and benefitting from it. If you have not been joined with us so far you can join for the last two days by going into www.clonard.com and clicking on the webcam link. You have all been in my thoughts and prayers each day.

 Attached is my input for next Sunday and the week following it. It is the 13^th week in Ordinary Time and the first of a whole series that will lead us up to the feast of Christ the King at the end of November. That seems a long time away but the beauty of the Liturgy is that we travel this journey step by step with the assurance that we will get there.

 I hope you will find this input helpful for yourselves. The focus of it is the importance of renewing our commitments of faith and love so that we can constantly grow in hope. I will be praying for you each day of the week ahead as always. Please pray for me and for all those who are using this programme that God may bless all of us with joy and gladness.

Hej allihopa,

I fredags firade vi Jesus Heliga Hjärta.   In the Sacred Heart of Jesus  is the whole person of Jesus Christ, the body, the soul and the divinity that cares for you and me. This is the devotion of the Sacred Heart. May we continue to show it in the way our life enfolds, in the way we care for others, in the way we interact with with others and in the way we encounter others.  I Jesus Heliga Hjärta finner vi Jesus Kristus hela person, kroppen, själen och gudomligheten som har omsorg om dig och mig.  Detta är det Heliga Hjärtats tillgivenhet. Må vi fortsätta att visa det genom det sätt som vårt liv omsluter, på det sätt vi har omsorg om andra, det sätt vi samspelar med varandra, och genom det sätt på vilket vi möter varandra.  P. Fr. Johnny utmanar oss idag med bland annat följande ord:  Jesus tells us that commitment is essential to the human fulfillment, the Kingdom of God.  Jesus säger till oss att engagemang är väsentligt för mänsklig uppfyllelse, Guds Rike.  Resten finns i brevet.

Herre, Ukrainas folk lider så mycket, vi ber att du ingriper så att kriget i Ukraina tar slut.  Låt ingenting värre hända. Var med alla som finns i Ukraina och utanför Ukraina. Jesus Vi ber för alla som lider på grund av krig. Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Vi ber för frid i hjärtat, frid i familjen och frid på jorden. Ge alla mänskliga och andliga  ledare visdom och bra omdöme.  Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Come Holy Spirit, Fill the Hearts of Your Faithful and kindle in them the fire of Your love. Send forth Your Spirit and we shall be created and You will renew the face of the earth. Kom Helige Ande, fyll dina trognas hjärtan och tänd i dem Din kärleks eld. Sänd ut Din Ande och vi skall bli väckta och Du skall förnya jordens ansikte.

Towards the beginning of this extended period of Ordinary Time the Liturgy of the Church celebrates two of the most important truths of our faith. Last Sunday we focused on the amazing mystery of the Holy Trinity, one God in Three Persons. This coming Sunday we are brought into the wonderful truth of the Eucharist in what we used to call Corpus Christi. God has come so close to us that we are constantly fed with the Body and Blood of Christ, God’s beloved Son, who is risen from the dead.

 Attached is my input for this feast as revealing to us also the intimacy of God’s love in the sacrament of marriage and the intimacy of love that is at the heart of your love in marriage and in your family life. I hope you will find inspiration as well as affirmation in the week ahead as you pray about and work on your own relationships.

 As always I will be praying for you and all your loved ones in the week ahead. Please keep me and others who will be using this resource, in your thoughts and prayers. May God bless us with an ever greater devotion to the Eucharist and to the sacrament of marriage. Thank you for your love for one another and for your families.

Nur har vi kommit till Corpus Kristi och evangeliet handlar om fem bröd och två fiskar. Fr. Johnny skriver bland annat till oss idag:  "As God´s people we are so privileged to be fed with The Body and Blood of Christ week after week, so much that we can even take it for granted.  We have the responsibility to keep the wonder of this gift alive in us.   Som Guds folk är vi privilegierade att bli mättade med Kristi Kropp och Blod vecka efter vecka, så ofta att vi t.o.m. kan ta det för givet.  Vi har  ansvaret att behålla undret av den här gåvan vid liv i oss.  Resten finns i brevet.

Let us remember this great gift we have received from God and let us always remember to adore it and treat it with respect.  Låt oss komma ihåg den stora gåvan vi har mottagit från Gud och låt oss alltid tillbedja den och behandla den med respekt.  Dear Friends,

 We are now into what is called Ordinary Time in the Liturgy of the Church. After all the celebrations of Easter, Eastertide, and Pentecost over the past couple of months it can seem like an invitation to slacken off a bit and now go back to business as usual!! But it is not that at all. Ordinary Time, in my estimation, is a reminder and a call to see our ordinary, every day lives as the place that all these wonderful mysteries of God’s love are to be lived out by us through the power of God’s Holy Spirit.

 The first two Sundays of this time are Trinity Sunday and Corpus Christi. These are a reminder for us that the God we worship is God as revealed to us by Jesus Christ – a personal God and God in whose image we are made; and also that we have been given the perfect worship of God in the Eucharist, the sacrifice of Christ and the food of life.

 Attached is my input on the first of these, the Most Holy Trinity. I hope you will find this helpful for yourselves. You will be in my prayers each day of the week ahead that God may fill you with the awe and the joy of knowing our God more fully. Please continue to pray for me and for one another on this journey of faith and love so that we can all become increasingly a people of hope. Thank you.

On this the Solemnity of the Holy Spirit, we have the opportunity to welcome anew God´s love in the son and mercy in the Spirit.  Idag på Treenighetens Söndag,  har vi möjligheten att välkomna på nytt Guds kärlek i Sonen och barmhärtigheten i den Heliga Ande.  Fr. Darren Dias

Den här veckan skriver Fr. Johnny: "the most profound truth is about the nature of the true God, a Trinity of persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  The truth is far beyond our understanding but is implanted close into our hearts by God´s Spirit. The second profound truth is that we are made in God´s image.  This truth is also far beyond our understanding. Den  djupaste sanningen handlar om Guds sanna natur, en treenighet av personer, Fader, Son och Helig Ande. Sanningen är långt bortom vår förståelse men är inpräglad nära in i våra hjärtan av Guds Ande. Den andra djupa sanningen är att vi är skapade till Guds avbild. Denna sanning är också långt bortom vår förståelse.  Resten finns i brevet.  Herre, ge oss en djupare kärlek till Dig och till varandra.  Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Där finns många som gifter sig under den här tiden.  Välsigna alla par som förbereder sig inför äktenskap.  Ge dem mod att sätta kärleken till varandra främst, så att deras liv fullkomnas och deras äktenskap blir glädjefyllt.  Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Herre, vi ber för alla som lider, speciellt i Ukraina och där det finns krig i världen.   Låt dem känna din närvaro och att allt inte är hopplöst. Vi ber för frid i hjärtat, frid i familjen, frid bland människor och frid på jorden.
