Ständig Bön för Äktenskap och Familj

 Attached please find my input for the Couple Prayer/Newsletter piece for the Fourth Sunday of Ordinary Time – that is next Sunday! – and the week after it. I hope as always that you will find it helpful for yourselves in living your love for each other especially in marriage and also in your family life.

 The theme of it is becoming more aware of the wonder of the gift of each other and the gift of your love for each other that has brought you to commit to a life of growing in your love. I will be praying for you each day of the week that you will experience ever more fully the joy of your life together and the romance of looking forward to the future together.

 I also attach a little document I came across on Twitter recently with good pointers for growing in love. As with everything I send you, I hope you will enjoy practicing these suggestions!! God bless you always. Please pray for me and for all those who will receive this email this week.

January 29^th – February 4^th The way of the Lord

“How happy are the poor in spirit, theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” The greatest secret of happiness is to know that nothing we have is our own, it is all gift from God, and that we are totally dependant on God. Life is full of so many gifts and the greatest gift of all is love. But love is a God power. The love you share in your marriage is a very special part of God’s gift, not only to you, but also to the world. Treasure it. Treasure one another for our sake. This week let yourself experience the wonder of this love you share and to which you are pledged. This gift of love is also what bonds family members to each other. It needs to be developed or it will become mediocre. And our call is to share this gift of love with all those who form our faith community with us. We do this by our friendliness, our attention to those in need, our willingness to give time to building up our community of faith.

Son vanligt är Fr. Johnny´s brev inspirerande och utmanande:  Bland annat säger han: Den störste gåva av lycka är att veta att ingenting vi har är vårt eget. Allt är en gåva från Gud och att  vi är helt och hållet beroende av Gud.  Livet är fullt av så många gåvor och den största gåvan av allt är kärlek.  Resten finns i brevet.

Lord Jesus, we ask you to increase our faith in your redeeming love and also in your power that we may always recognise your abiding presence within each one of us.  Please give us the courage to always do your will and believe that you are always with us until the end of time. Herre Jesus, vi ber att du ökar vår tro på din frälsande  kärlek och också på din kraft att vi må alltid känna igen din närvaro i var och en av oss.  Ge oss modet att alltid göra Din vilja och må vi tro att du är alltid med oss intill tidens ände. Fr. Påvens intention för februari:  att församlingar i en anda av samhörighet välkomnar de mest behövande, och alltmer blir gemenskaper i tro och medmänsklighet.

Jag vill gärna att vi ber för alla som har ett funktionshinder av något slag, alla som känner sig ensamma och alla på äldreboende som inte har någon som hälsar på dem.  Herre vi lägger alla som finns i sådana situationer i dina heliga händer.  Låt det finnas och låt dem vara mottagliga för all mänsklig och andlig hjälp som det finns att få.  Led oss till dem som känner sig ensamma och behöver vår hjälp.  Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Kriget i Ukraina fortsätter och det känns förfärligt. Herre, var med alla Ukrainare.  Låt det här eländet snart ta slut.  Tack Herre att många länder fortsätter att stödja Ukraina på olika sätt. Vi ber för frid i hjärtat, frid i familjen och frid på jorden. Ge alla världens ledare, båda andliga och världsliga, visdom och bra omdöme.  Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Fyll varje hem med Din kärlek, Må vart och ett av våra hem blid en plats fylld av Din närvaro, en källa som förmedlar Din frid. . Bönehäftet  Må vi börja med oss själva.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithfuland. Kindle in them the fire of Your love.  Send forth your spirit and we shall be created and You will renew the face of the earth.   Kom Helige Ande, fyll dina trognas hjärtan och tänd i dem Din kärleks eld.  Sänd ut Din ande och vi skall bli väckta och Du skall förnya jordens ansikte.
