Ständig Bön för Äktenskap och Familj

Dear Friends,

 As we enter into the last week of Lent, I thank God for the past few weeks of love and grace. And I thank you for the privilege of being with you through this time. Next week, which we call Holy Week, is a very special one in which we are all invited to get in touch with the immense love that God has for us individually and as his family. This love is revealed through the suffering and death of Christ for our salvation and also through the promise of resurrection that we have in the resurrection of Christ at Easter.

 I hope you will find the attached input helpful for yourselves and for your family. As you get in touch with God’s love for you become more open to the wonder of your love for each other also because that love is such a gift and miracle. I assure you of my prayers for you and for all those you love. May God bless you and them abundantly every day and may God keep you and all of us safe through this time of pandemic. Please continue to pray for me and for one another.

Nu börjar vi Stilla Veckan med Palmsöndag sedan efter några dagar Skärtorsdag, Lång Långfredag, Påskafton och sedan Påskdagen. Den här veckan skriver P. Johnny: "During Holy Week, we journey through all these stages with Jesus so that he may bring us new life and hope. Under Stilla Veckan reser vi igenom alla de här scenerna med Jesus så att Han må ge oss nytt liv och hopp".  Resten finns i brevet.

Låt oss alla vara förenade i bön under veckan och be för varandras och Påve Franciskus intentioner. Herre, Du vet att det är svårt för oss att inte kunna fira Stilla Veckan i Kyrkan.  Låt oss känna Din närvaro i våra liv.  Herre styrk oss och låt oss alla komma ur den här pandemin med en djupare tro. Låt det bli en pånyttfödelse bland alla kristna.  Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Pope Francis wrote in his book "Let us dream". "Sometimes when I think about the challenges before us, I feel overwhelmed but I´m never hopeless.  We are accompanied, we are being sifted, yes, and it is painful.  Many of us feel powerless and even afraid but there is an opportunity in this crisis to come out better." Påve Franciskus skrev i sin bok "Låt oss drömma". "Ibland när jag tänker på utmaningarna framför oss, känner jag mig överväldig men aldrig utan hopp. Vi är ledsagade, vi är prövade, ja, och det gör ont. Många av oss känner oss vanmäktiga och även rädda men det finns en möjlighet i kriser att komma ut bättre".

Förbön önskas för ett par som kommer att ingå äktenskap i Maj. Herre,  vi tackar dig för den kärlek de har för dig och varandra. Hjälp den att prioritera kommunikation och förståelse för varandra och fundera över vad de värdesätter i livet. Du vet vad de behöver mest i livet. Låt allt ske enligt Din vilja i deras liv.  Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Your words O Lord are spirit and life. You have everlasting life.  Dina ord, O Herre är ande och liv. Du har det eviga livet. Johannes 10.

Amoris Laetitia Familj År började i onsdags, Helige Josefs festdag.  Det pågår fram till 26 juni.  Påve Franciscus har sagt: "It will be a reflection on the document "Amoris Laetitia" and it will be an opportunity to focus more closely on  the contents of  the document. Det kommer att vara en reflektion på "Amoris Laetitia" och det blir ett tillfälle att närmare fokusera på innehållet av dokumentet.” St Johannes Paulus har sagt att "Världens framtid ligger i familjens händer".  Herre, hjälp oss att göra allt vi kan med Din hjälp för att stärka våra familjer i tro, hopp och kärlek till Dig och varandra. Vi ber att tron går vidare till nästa generation. Hjälp oss att göra Rörelsen Ständig Bön för Äktenskap och Familj mer känd i våra församlingar. Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Följande böner kommer från Irlands Biskopar inför familjeåret:  We pray that families will know the support that their faith can offer them in times of difficulty and that families can share hope and inspire patience in each other at all times. Vi ber att familjer kommer att känna att tron stödjer dem i svåra tider och att familjer kan dela hopp och inspirera tålamod i varandra hela tiden.

We pray that all families members will show that they are loved, appreciated and cherished. Vi ber att alla medlemmar i familjer visar att de är älskade, uppskattade och omtyckta.

"If we set our  sights on what God wants for us we will gain far more than we ever imagined.  Om  vi koncentrerar oss på vad Gud vill för oss kommer vi att få långt mer än vi kan föreställa oss." säger P. Johhny till oss idag.  Resten finns i brevet.

Come Holy Spirit, Fill the Hearts of Your Faithful and kindle in them the fire of Your love. Send forth Your Spirit and we shall be created and You will renew the face of the earth. Kom Helige Ande, fyll dina trognas hjärtan och tänd i dem Din kärleks eld. Sänd ut Din Ande och vi skall bli väckta och Du skall förnya jordens ansikte.

Den 19 Mars, Helige Josefs festdag börjar "The Year of the Family",  Familjens År.  Det datumet är en speciell dag för mig för det var på denna dag som min bror dog av cancer.  Dagen innan hade hade jag deltagit i Mässan i Marianella, där Fr. Johnny  firade Mässan och det var början av Ständig Bön för Äktenskap och familj i Sverige. Året var 2001, 20 år sedan. Det började officiellt den 8 augusti, 2002 i Sverige. Biskopar på Irland uppmanar alla att be följande bön till Helige Josef inför början av Familjens År.

Påvens bön: Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. To you God entrusted his only Son; in you Mary placed her trust; with you Christ became man. Blessed Joseph, to us too, show yourself and  guide us in the path of life. Obtain for us grace, mercy, and courage, and defend us from every evil.       Var hälsad, frälsarens beskyddare, Jungfru Marias make. Gud anförtrodde hans enda Son till dig;  Maria satte sin tillit till dig; med dig blev Kristus människa. Välsignade Josef, var en beskyddare också för oss och led oss på livets vägar.  Hjälp oss att få nåd, barmhärtighet och mod och försvara oss från all ondska. Amen

We pray for all families that they will feel nurtured by the  coming year, especially when it comes to passing on the faith from one generation to the next.  Vi ber för alla familjer att de blir stärkta under det kommande året, särskilt när det kommer till att ge tron vidare till nästa generation och kommande generationer. Bön från Biskopar av Irland

T. var sjuk under veckan och spenderade några dagar på sjukhus.  Hans fru vill att vi ber för honom och för henne.  Herre, tack för paret.  Du vet hur de har det och vad de behöver.  Låt allt ske i deras liv enligt Din vilja.  Låt dem känna Din närvaro.  Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

En kvinna som inte mår bra vill att vi ber för henne.  Vi överlämnar kvinnan till Dig.  Skydda henne från allt ont och lindra hennes oro.  Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Fill every home with Your love. May each of our homes be places of Your presence and sources of Your peace.   Fyll Varje hem med Din kärlek.  Må vårt och ett av våra hem bli en plats fylld av Din närvaro, en källa som förmedlar Din frid.  Amen   Bönehäfte

 Attached please find my input for the Couple Prayer for next Sunday and the week following. The reflection in this can also be used for your parish Newsletter!! I hope this will be of help to you and to your life of love and faith in your marriage and/or family and in your faith community.

 Jesus promises to be with us every time we are with one another – in fact our presence with one another makes him present in our world of marriage , the family, the parish and society. I find that an awesome thought and an extraordinary privilege. In the week ahead treasure your love relationships more and more and put everything you can into building those relationships to be as joyful and vibrant as possible.

 You will be in my prayers each day of the week. Please keep me in yours. May God bless all of us with health and happiness and keep us all safe from Covid-19.  Thank you.

Nu har vi kommit till tredje söndagen i Fastan och vi hotas av en 3e våg av pandemin.  Jag tänker det är svårast för dem som är helt ensamma. Det var bra att läsa en artikel i Eugeniabladet skriven av P. Dominick om vad  som hände när en utåtriktad man blev tvungen till ensamhet på grund av pandemin. Han upplevde ensamhet och tystnad  på ett alldeles speciellt sätt. Det var tilltalande. En av Påve Franciskus förslag för Fastan var "Fasta från ord, var tyst och lyssna.  Fr. John Bertao (dailytvmass.com)  sade för några veckor att hans Mammas recept  för ett bra äktenskap är att lyssna på varandra.

Följande hörde jag under veckan: When Jesus was dying he prayed "Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing”. St. Stephen prayed "Do not hold this against them”. St. Patrick was kidnapped and enslaved in Ireland and forgave his kidnappers. He came back to Ireland as a priest and Ireland became a christian country.  Martyrs forgive those who murder them. Every day millions of people forgive those who murder them."   Inför döden bad Jesus, Herre förlåt dem för de vet inte vad de gör. Inför döden bad Heliga Stefanos, "håll inte det här emot dem”. Helige Patrick kidnappades och förslavades på Irland och förlät sina kidnappare. Han kom tillbaka till Irland som präst och så småningom blev Irland ett kristet land. Martyrer förlåter dem som mördar dem. Varje dag miljoner av människor förlåter dem som mördar dem." Jag  kommer ihåg att P. Josef Höfner sade "Vi sårar och bli sårade hela tiden”.  Jag tror att de flesta av oss finner det svårt att förlåta men när vi gör det blir allt vänt åt rätt håll. Herre, du förlåter oss, hjälp oss att kunna förlåta andra.

Nu är Påve Franciskus i Irak.  Han är verkligen en fredens människa. Han sade när han kom dit. "I come as a pilgrim of peace in the name of Christ, the Prince of Peace. How much we have prayed in these years for peace in Iraq. Jag kommer som en pilgrim av fred i Kristus namn.  Hur mycket har vi bett under de här åren för fred i Irak."  Herre, tack för Påve Franciskus.  Skydda honom. Låt allt han säger och gör nu leda så småningom till fred, fred som består.  Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Jag tror vi är många som känner oss trötta och ibland även uppgivna.  Tar pandemin aldrig slut?  Jag blev påmind under veckan att Jesus ofta kände sig trött men var uthållig intill slutet.  Herre, var med alla  på "frontlinjen",  du vet hur de känner sig.  Låt den vara burna av våra böner.  Var med oss alla men speciellt dem som är helt ensamma och sjuka. Hjälp oss alla att vara uthålliga och tänka på andra. Vi lägger allt i dina händer.  Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Praise be Jesus Christ, King of eternal life.  Lovad vara Jesus Kristus,  Kung av evigt liv.

 Attached you will find my input for Couple Prayer and for Newsletter insert for next Sunday and the week following. I hope you will find it helpful for yourselves and for your family.

 Peter’s proclamation of faith – “Lord, it is wonderful for us to be here” – is the challenge for all of us in the week ahead. It is a difficult one in the present circumstances of the pandemic and the ongoing lockdown. But it is a challenge we need to face both in relation to our faith in Christ and in our commitment to one another in marriage and family life and in our community of faith with one another. Not even a pandemic or a lockdown should be allowed to take away our joy in his love for us and our love for one another. But this takes working at and it takes decisions to love.

 You will be in my prayers each day of the week ahead as usual. Thank you for your prayers and your love. May God help us all to rise to that challenge of joy in what we have and what we are promised.

Idag är det solig här i Karlstad.  Våren känns i löften.  Vi satt på balkongen för första gången i år. Hoppas att ni har kunnat njuta av värmen och  mår bra trotts pandemin.  Flera har fått vaccinen.  Deo gratias.

”Jesus heard at the Transfiguration that he was beloved! We all want to know that someone would say they love us.  Jesus hörde på Kristi Förklaringsdag att Han var älskad.  Vi alla önskar att någon skulle säga att de älskar oss.”  Fr. Donal Neary S.J. Dublin

Jag blev tagen av följande idag när jag deltog i Mässan på dailytvmass.com.  Det handlade om dagens evangelium. "Evolution is good.  It is moving to the transformation of creation and it´s moving to our personal transformation as people.  The ultimate force that´s driving it, in addition to physical reality, is beloved. To be beloved  is a source beyond ourselves and a grace, married to our freedom, is filling us to be transformed as was Jesus.  Evolution är bra. Det rör sig mot förvandlingen av skapelsen och det rör sig mot vår personliga förvandling som människor. Den yttersta kraften som styr den, förutom fysisk verklighet, är att vara älskad. Att vara älskad är en källa bortom oss själva och en nåd, gift med vår frihet, som fyller oss så att vi blir förvandlade som Jesus var.

We can transfigure or disfigure each other. We can bring out the light and the hope and the joy in our  belonging to God. If we really believe we are loved by God then the world we live in is transfigured, changed. Vi kan förvandla eller förstöra varandra. Vi kan ta fram ljuset och hoppet och glädjen i att vi tillhör Gud.  Om vi verkligen tror att vi är älskade av Gud, då är världen vi lever förvandlad, ändrad. Donal Neary. S.J.
